A Chinese journalist has been able to record some pictures sent with a public camera of surveillance installed on the top of a building. While this camera was supposed for the purpose of watching a crossroad, the journalist discovered that the policemen were suspiciously using it for some other evil function.

It is a journalist of the Southern Metropolis Daily who discovered somewhat appeared to be like “a pot of roses’ (relayed by the blocker to East South West North). Since April 26, he accessed scanned pictures in real time with one surveillance camera fixed on a building in Yayuan, a town in the south of China.

It is so revealed that the camera, once it was dark at night, did not fix any more the roundabout cross way that it was supposed to watch but swept to and fro the facade of the opposite building. Sometimes, the camera stopped swinging for no real reason, but focused on a window where the curtains were pulled aside. The camera was remained focus for 59 minutes and 41 seconds through the window; the pictures inside the room was monitored and the policeman were investigating a young naked woman probably was taking a shower in her bath room.

The local authorities reacted to this serious scandal by announcing that the authors for these abuses would be severely punished, while quoting that the camera was operated by an "interim" policeman. This incident revealed to us that the surveillance cameras which flourish in the city, and not only in China, created serious problems in terms of the respect for personal privacy.

Sharon Hom, the head of the ONG Human rights in China investigated the surveillance system setup by Beijing. She said: “We have never heard about the use of this type of surveillance by the police (to cleanse the eyes with the view of a naked woman). We know on the other hand that China has a very sophisticated video system of surveillance. From official source, there would be 300 000 cameras in the capital only. There are in the subway, small public gardens and of course on all Olympic sites everywhere. Then the most disturbing again, is the fact that these camera are digital and were designed to facilitate the acquiring of biometric recognition (i.e. from traits of the face). An example: if a political dissident of Beijing goes to Chengdu, the police would probably able to identify him from his arrival at the railway station due to this system of cameras linked with biometric software."

In many European countries, it is strictly forbidden to record moving pictures from private places. “This problem is not clean in China”. For instance, it is said that Great Britain is the country where there are most surveillance cameras per head. The same in France, the municipalities (I think for instance of Levallois), prefectures and private firms have already installed this type of equipment there. Actual French Interior minister, Michèle Alliot-Marie, has declared that she wanted to treble the number of cameras. The surveillance of the citizens using this type of sophisticated camera would of course create serious problem. But, in France, it is really forbidden to film a private place. There is even some software which automatically blurs the picture as soon as surveillance camera passes in front of the window of a flat”.

According to the majority of the public opinions the quote is below:

“Personally, I am in favor of the use of a surveillance camera. If one of your children happened being a victim of a severe aggression, you would like to have the pictures of the crime recorded so that we can arrest the criminals. Let us trust in the authorities (I am not talking about that of China) to protect us, but not to use the camera to watch the evil things. People living on this planet want security”.

Just in the same way the possession of a fire arm is helpful at the moment you are being attacked by some criminals, but imagine what will happen at the moment your fire arm has been confiscated by the criminals instead? So therefore a surveillance camera is useful, but it depends for what purpose you are using it.

Today, on this very anxious earth planet, we are always longing for peace and security. So many times, what are the dangers which are surrounding us we do not know! Without a surveillance camera we are unable to monitor what are coming ahead, but instead we are being monitored by the criminals who are constantly looking for opportunities to attack us. Without a surveillance camera we are like “driving a car along a crooked road with our eyes shielded’. Fortunately, we have some good news! A surveillance camera can not only be procured by the government and by the big companies. A surveillance camera can be purchased for less than $200 inclusive of air shipping from www.MauriSales.com. It is the price much lower than you can bid from all the big auction sites.
