Traffic is the lifeline of all online business. Whether you are selling a product, or doing affiliate marketing, providing an information site earning money from Adsense or just a blog sharing some thoughts, you want to have traffic viewing your website. You create a website because you want people to see it.
What is the point of creating a beautiful website that has no visitors?
There are many ways that you can get traffic. I classify traffic generation as active and passive. Active traffic is traffic that you search for them and invite them to visit your site. This type of traffic can come is big quantity, but once you stop your traffic generation activities, the traffic stop coming. An example is using social media.
Passive traffic is traffic that comes by them selves from your traffic generation activities that is done few weeks back or month backs. They don’t stop coming even if you stop doing the passive traffic generation. Example of this is article marketing, and search engine optimization (SEO)
You need both the active and passive traffic to your website. Traffic comes from your consistent marketing effort. You need to do both the active and passive marketing.
Set aside time to do your social media marketing and also your article marketing and SEO. In this way you can see that your traffic becomes more consistent and regular.
I used to think that I can just master one type of marketing and simply just focus on that method, but after many months of trial and error, monitoring the results, I realized that the best method was to combine both type of active and passive marketing that could deliver me the best results. |
