At one time, rewriting all your content by hand to submit to various article directories, was the only way to beat the duplicate content penalty. Through the use of Latent Semantic Indexing, major search engines are eliminating duplicate content. This field of language studies is referred to as semantics, which is the study of the meaning of words. Normally, a thesaurus would be used to change words by the use of synonyms, whereas semantics uses a method of words related to the meaning. For instance, the word dance would have 'jig', 'hop' or 'waltz' as synonyms in a thesaurus. However in semantics, 'dance' can be interpreted as 'club' or 'song'.
