Editing videos for placement and sharing on YouTube is not always as easy as one may think. After spending hours making your video for your own website you have to consider what other viewers on video sites such as Youtube may think of the video when it is viewed remotely. It's all very well putting your work on your own site where it will be relevent to the site, but YouTube? That is a different matter entirely.
Initially take into acount the fact that the videos will be viewed by visitors who may simply be browsing videos using the YouYube search facility. So you have to make sure that the video you produce will create the effect which you originally inteneded, and that it is relevant to the Keyword which they may be using to search the site. Also you must consider the quality of video itself, if the quality is poor then visitors will quickly move on and your opportunity could be lost forever.
With so much potential exposure it can be a daunting task. However there are ways to simplify things if you apply a few basic princicples to the creation of your web videos. When you are getting started, it may seem more than a little time-consuming, but be patient, time spent now will be rewarded later.
One of the main problems encountered by beginners is in the choice of software to use for their video creations. One of the best pieces of software for this type of work is adobe PhotoshopCS4.
If you do decide to use this software The Basic methods are
1. Create a new project using the size settings of 480px by 360px (pixels) with a white background.
2. Next create a gentle gradient using the gradient tool, going from light blue to white, with the white set at zero opacity.
3. Make make a new layer and apply the gradient.
4. Create the Main header text graphic, which will automatically create a new layer for the text.
5. Apply effects as you choose.
6 This design will be used continually as the header and as the text on the magazine objects that appear in the videos. The white, gradient and headline layers are the only ones that remain at full opacity throughout the video making process.
7. Create 5-6 rows of centered text in a clear font and good size for readability. Enter each row of text seperately, rather than as paragraphs, and align them evenly down the page. By using this basic process the text can then be changed and the layers used over and again when making more videos.
8.save the PSD file which the software creates somewhere safe on your computer where you can readily find it again for future use. This will then become your control template for whenever you wish to make another video. |
